For many, many years, ATK Arena's venue in Cape Town offered gamers a place to enjoy dozens of activities, compete in tournaments, and have fun with likeminded individuals. For me, multiple competitions, and special events such as the ATK Scarefests (Halloween events) come to mind.

Before we go any further, I would like to stress that ATK Arena isn't shutting down. Instead, it is just relocating. On 27 February 2025, ATK Arena's venue in Claremont, Cape Town, closed down for good.

In a short announcement on social media, ATK Arena explained:

Today marks the last trading day at our ATK Arena In Claremont, but don’t worry, this isn’t goodbye! We’re relocating to a brand-new space, and we can’t wait to share the next chapter of ATK with you. Be sure to stay tuned to our socials for updates on our new venue!

The venue has been open for roughly seven years, with the first operation starting in 2018. That's a long time, and I'm feeling quite old right now if I'm being honest.

For those who never visited, and just for reference, the old ATK Arena address was: 91 Main Road, Claremont, Stadium on Main Parkade, Ground Floor Level 1, Cape Town, South Africa, 7708.

At the time of writing, it is unclear where ATK Arena will locate to. We do assume it is still in Cape Town, but the announcement did not make this 100% clear. Stay tuned at ESC as we will provide you with the details of the new ATK Arena venue when the organization makes an official announcement.
