Already available on the streaming platform, Arcane transports us to Zaun and Piltover to tell us how the fate of these two warring cities was forged through the story of different champions.
Characters familiar to players of Riot Games' title will soon become household names even to viewers who have never played one of the developer's titles.
This series stars Vi and Jinx, sisters with identical backgrounds whose opposing fates have intrigued players ever since the latter came to League of Legends as a playable character.
It will be through their adventure in the upper city (Piltover) and escape in the lower city (Zaun) that we will be introduced to a series of events that solve some of the great mysteries of their relationship and the current situation in both cities.
These locations are a zone of conflict that tries to reflect the relationships of the world's great cities, with a luxurious and technological downtown area and a ramshackle periphery where inequality is evident.
Throughout Arcane, other champions available in the game will also appear, as well as a number of characters that we have previously only known by hearsay in the various stories from the world of Runeterra.
The series will release episodes over several weeks until its conclusion and, with the first block already released, it has become a hit with both audiences and critics, racking up good marks on all the review sites (FilmAffinity, IMDB, Metacritic...).
The first episode even received a premiere on Twitch that accumulated over 1.8 million simultaneous viewers and the series was able to oust Squid Game from Netflix's Top1.
Riot Games has also taken advantage of Arcane's release to run an event across all of its games and we've been able to get our hands on all sorts of rewards in Valorant, League of Legends, TFT and Legends of Runeterra.
In League of Legends, the rewards are particularly interesting, as you can get free skins for four of the champions featured in the series simply by playing a few games.
As if that wasn't enough, it has also broken its own traditions and announced partnerships with Fortnite and PUBG Mobile, making its characters present in these titles and introducing their games to the Epic Games Store.
The developer has completed one of its most successful periods and quenched the thirst of fans who have been waiting since the launch of League of Legends to tap into the entire history of the video game universe.
In short, Arcane is a series aimed at League of Legends fans that will also be enjoyed by those who have never touched the MOBA. An animated but very human story that promises to be at the TOP of 2021.
Keep in mind that, although the first episode was also available on Twitch, the series is an exclusive production of Riot Games and Netflix, so you will need an active subscription to enjoy Arcane.
Don't miss it!
